Canadian Ted Kotcheff started his directorial career when he was 24, directing live television drama. He moved to England where he made his early films. He was hired to direct the Australian WAKE IN FRIGHT there; this film was declared a Cannes Classic in 2009. Returning to Canada, he made THE APPRENTICESHIP OF DUDDY KRAVITZ, also declared a Cannes Classic. He went on to direct FIRST BLOOD with Sylvester Stallone, NORTH DALLAS FORTY with Nick Nolte, and several comedies, such as FUN WITH DICK AND JANE, starring George Segal and Jane Fonda, and the cult classic WEEKEND AT BERNIE’S. For 12 seasons, he was the Executive Producer of LAW AND ORDER SVU, directing several them.
