BAD BOY BUBBY Headed To Blu-ray With 2K Restoration & New Special Features!
Last year we brought you the exclusive news that Umbrella Entertainment would be reigniting their Beyond Genres line in 2021 after what had been a year’s absence in the marketplace due to unforeseen circumstances (you may have heard about a pandemic that’s been doing the rounds the world over).
Well we’re pleased to report that Volume 7 in the Beyond Genres series will arrive on February 17th with a definitive edition of Rolf de Heer’s masterpiece BAD BOY BUBBY on Blu-ray, complete with a new 2K restoration, 5.1 remastered soundtrack and host of Special Feature content both new and archival.
The 2K scan was taken from the original interpositive on an Arri-scan at the Moving Image Department of George Eastman House (now George Eastman Museum) in Rochester New York. The soundtrack was remastered in 5.1 by Tom Heuzenroeder at SonicArt in Adelaide, Tom worked on the film as a seventeen-year-old, and he was assisted by James Currie, James being the original sound recordist/editor/mixer on the film.
Of course no release in the Beyond Genres line would the same without the incredible artwork of artist/designer Simon Sherry and this is no exception…
